Hi guys, I have spent over 3 hours on reading and trying to get my printer working with Dlink NAS DNS-323 and Epson Stylus DX8450. I have the correct drivers that work when the printer is connected directly to one of my Macs (mini, iMac & MBP). Once connected to NAS the printer is visible under Windows tab in workgroup nas lp. It's authenticating me and I've tried with admin and user accounts.

Either way, you cannot take the drives out of the DNS-323 and connect them directly to a Mac or PC. Hello David and welcome to the Apple forum. Your print job stopping may be a result of the driver rather than an authentication issue. If the Epson drivers are anything like the Canon inkjet drivers, they only work when connected directly to the Mac via USB. To print to a Windows share, or to an external print server other than an Apple, you need to use a CUPS-based driver such as Gutenprint. Looking through the list of supported printers for v5.2.3, your DX8450 is shown. So I would recommend you downloading v5.2.3 of Gutenprint from Sourceforge ( ) and selecting the Gutenprint DX8450 in the print using menu.
