Ets2 Drivers Return With Jobs

So, I finally got 180,000 euros so I upgraded my garage to accomodate 3 drivers and then I hired two. I was under the impression that they would continuously make money for me.

Well, my truck was, at the time, 12% damaged, and I had spent all of my money already so I decided to do a job to shore up the funds to get repaired. Well, due to a chain of bad choices and bad luck, I was 80% damaged when I was done.

So now, I'm left waiting for my drivers to earn me 44,000 dollars so I can repair my truck and they haven't made me a dime. Aw crap, and I didn't write anything in yet.I'd say your best option is a quick 50k loan.Regarding your employees: they need to be assigned their own truck, which even if you go with the economist option is 100k a piece.

They start out with shit jobs initially (kinda like you do, a few hundred km, no speed or ADR bonus) but after a few days or a week or so of driving around they start leveling up just like you and eventually do make steady money, but it's not a fast process. For this reason in the beginning you should stick to hiring and training one driver at a time. Then whenever you have a 100k you can spend without any harm buy a new employee truck with a driver and thus you roll it back into the company. By the time you have 5-6 drivers or so, your drivers will earn as much cash in a day as you do. But until then try to be economical.

So basically you need:. 100k(ish) to buy your first truck.

180k to upgrade your garage to +2 slots. 100k (ish) to buy your second truckI've been running quick jobs since Step 1 (buy truck) to save up for the garage upgrade, because quick jobs have these benefits:. No fuel costs. No maintenance costs.

No toll/travel expenses (i.e. Ferry/channel tunnel tolls)The only thing you pay for on quick jobs are driving offenses (i.e. Speeding and crashes.) So this way, you get more profit on the same job than you would otherwise.Drawbacks to quick jobs:. Trucks are capped at 55mph/110kmh (which means jobs take longer). Super low gas capacity (which means you constantly have to be on the lookout for a station if you're under 1/4 tank). No power whatsoever (so they take longer to get to max speed for any reason)I got tired of waiting to re-save 100k (which realistically would only be 2-3 decent long distance jobs) so I just borrowed from the bank to buy the second truck and hire my first driver. Don't forget, in the job selection screen you can sort the available jobs by various factors.

You should sort the jobs in descending order of Price Per Distance, don't go purely by the end reward. For example, you can do a lot of smaller jobs and earn more in those than being stuck on a long job for half the price per km.If you get an ADR badge, you can quite often do jobs between close towns for a few grand each. Yes, they're only a few grand but they'll take only a few minutes to complete, and if you park each one you get more XP.Find 2 towns seperated by an easy road - preferably not a highway (as you waste time with intersections), a 2-lane road which is quite straight is ideal as you can disable the limiter and barrel down the wrong side of the road. Hopefully you can get lots of jobs between those 2 towns.I started in Kassel as there are lots of easy 2-lane roads and plenty of towns which are close by, all with ADR producing/receiving factories.

This is something of a grey area to me when I read guides, on the best approach to training them. I haven't found any clear info on this, so best I can do is common sense.Obviously the 'Long Distance' skill is important near the start to open up more jobs. And of course training at least 1 in the other skills early on, except for 'Eco Driving' can wait. The problem is return trips. There is never a problem to find outgoing trips. But for the driver to find trips back to their 'home' which they always return, seems to be 50/50.My few drivers I have are not high enough level so I can't confirm anything, but this is my idea.

If a driver was trained with a couple points in 'Long Distance', at least 1 point in the other categories to unlock them, and concentrate on maxing out 'ADR', that should technically open up the most jobs for the return trip? 'Long Distance' technically only effects the 'outgoing' trips, so should have no effect on finding a job for the return trip, which is why I would suggest 'ADR' to be maxed after other job opportunites are unlocked.TLDR;Hired Drivers: Long Distance 2, rest of skills 1 to unlock, rest ADR to maximize chance of finding job on return trip?Anyone with drivers with high enough skills, do you still have trouble with them returning empty?.edit. This is all based on my assumption that they only try and locate a job within the current town they are in. If they do not find one there, they simply return empty.

The hired driver's home garage may make a difference in the quality (read: higher paying) of jobs they can get in their home city. For example if the home city has 4 or 5 job sites it may be more likely that there are more high paying jobs offered at the home garage. Remember that a hired driver MUST return to their home garage, a home city with more job sites is more likely to be a destination from wherever the driver's job took them to.The hired driver's home garage location may have an effect on the jobs offered both originating in the home city and return jobs. Picking a garage with a central location means there will be more possible destinations so there will be more opportunity for high paying jobs.I am not absolutely convinced that these principles actually apply, it is more than likely that jobs picked for hired drivers are completely random and does not consider any of these factors.I can say that in my game my best performing garages are both (moderately) centrally located and are located in cities with 4 or 5 job sites. My best performing garage for low and mid level drivers is Berlin. However, it should be noted that cities near the edges of the map would be best for higher level higher skilled drivers who have a long distance skill of 4 or 5. It should be obvious that really long distance jobs (that pay the highest) can only be offered from cities near the edges of the map.

Liverpool and Bratislava consistently offer the highest paying long distance jobs for example. Once one of my hired drivers gets to level 3 or 4 in long distance skill I transfer them to a garage at the edge of the map where they do seem to improve their earnings.

To me, they should have an algorithm that finds a job that reduces the distance between the far point of the outgoing job to the 'home' base. For example, let's say their base is Aberdeen and they do a job to Bratislava - if they don't find any job back to Aberdeen they should take a job to Edinburgh; if not there, a job to Newcastle, and so on. Once they get to Edinburgh from the return trip, the computation is made again - if there is no job to Aberdeen at that point, THEN they can dead-head it back to their base.In real life, if I had an employee that didn't do this, they would not be an employee for very long.
